Trestle Creek Falls/Brice Creek – March 14, 2026

Hike coordinator Amber Garcia Haain

Narration by Amber Garcia Haain

This was a moderate hike of 8.5 miles with a 1140-foot elevation gain. Ten-plus hikers joined us, bringing with them all the fun! The sun eventually broke out the last half the hike, making this an even more pleasant journey. A somewhat unorthodox hike, some of us chose to get wet in the river, while someone else brought their mountain bike to use on this excursion. After having lunch behind Upper Trestle Creek Falls, we returned the way we came up, keeping right at junctions and ending our hike back at Cedar Creek Campground where we started.

This was such a nice introductory hike to lead. Comradery was high, and we all left with what Scott calls PHE – Post Hike Elation. I would be very pleased to lead more hikes and am researching places to bring to the next club meeting.

Beautiful falls at Brice Creek
Brice Creek was one of the main attractions on this hike
A small foot bridge that accommodates feet of all sizes
Looks like the green carpet on the wall of your uncle’s van from the 70’s!
Just another beautiful trail in Oregon!
The other main attraction of this hike, Upper Trestle Creek Falls
A tree model wears the moss like a fancy fur coat
Good thing the trail wasn’t green, or we wouldn’t be able to see it!
Moss even grows on the rocks in Brice Creek
A small creek flows under a log jam
Brice Creek brims with water
The path beckons
