Rogue River Trail: Takelma Gorge – November 8, 2025

Hike coordinator: Terry Andreucci

Narration by Terry Andreucci

On this sunny day, 13 Hikers made the trek from the Woodruff bridge picnic area where the trailhead begins to the River Bridge turn around point. This was a 9.2 mile out and back hike which took us past spectacular Takelma Gorge on the Upper Rogue River Trail.

What was different about the hike from years past, is that it was almost completely devoid of its normal brilliant fall colors. We were probably a few weeks too late.

What was amazing though were the abundance of mushrooms! All kinds, all colors! Unless you are an expert, I wouldn’t even begin to try to identify them.

Another wonderful day being out with Mother Nature!

Ready to go hiking in Mushroom Land!
A lovely color palette of white and green with a splash of yellow

It appears the fall colors have fallen
Shouldn’t this be in the ocean?..
Things are getting a bit crowded here!
