Cooper Creek – January 31, 2026

Hike coordinator: Rheo Wheeler

Narration by Rheo Wheeler

This was an unusual hike for the club as it required people to assemble at our hike destination, rather than assemble to carpool to the hike, plus, the hike wasn’t scheduled until 1 pm. Many of us in the club were meeting that morning to say goodbye to a longtime friend and valued member of our hiking group Edwin Case, who recently passed on.

The hike started a little later than scheduled, closer to 1:45 rather than 1:00, but everyone had a chance to gab a bit before we started our round the reservoir trek. This is a great hike, as it meanders up and down and you are close to water the whole time. Not much wildlife this day, but plenty of hikers out for some fresh air. Good company and weather were shared by all. A total of 6 miles were hiked on this day in honor of Edwin Case.
