May 17th and nine brave souls head into
the heat of an early summer day for a 4.7-mile
hike of the third segment of the Fall Creek Trail.
Actually, the heat kicked in only during the last
hour of the hike and then only after a nice
creek-side lunch break.
Two hikers came all the way from Salem! They read
about the hike in the Statesman Journal and
decided to join us.
The trail was in good shape, thanks to the efforts
of Diane, Bev, Nancy and Gary who did a bit of
pruning and trimming on a pre-walk excursion in
late April.
Everyone enjoyed a nice stroll in the forest.
