Fourteen brave souls
headed West on Highway 138 to see two things: the
changing colors along the Upper Rogue and damage
from the Rattle Fire. Good news on both counts, the
Rattle Fire evidenced limited damage along Highway
138 and the colors along the Upper Rogue were
magnificent.
We were joined by
three hikers that came to the trailhead via a
southerly route and we marched on with a crew of 17.
We encountered some rain on our way to the
trailhead, and it rained for a few minutes at the
start of the hike — but it stopped in quick order
and the weather was perfect. A good time was had by
all.
This is a very
good Fall hike.
