An attempted pre-hike of Lemolo Falls on
Wednesday revealed an abundance of snow
at the trailhead. This, coupled with
uncertain conditions on the trail
itself, resulted in our deciding to
replace that hike with what turned out
to be a nice 7-mile hike starting on the
Riverview Trail at Steamboat and
continuing to Fall Creek Falls.
The eight of us experienced intermittent
spurts of light rain, but generally this
was quite a nice hike. We saw quite a
bit of blow-down, most of which had
already been attended to by chainsaw. We
also saw a lot of rock fall, some of
which had been moved with heavy
equipment of some sort. Between the
falling trees and crashing rocks this
must have been quite an exciting place
last winter. |
